Bajaj Auto has launched the next-generation Pulsar 125 and Pulsar 150, marking 25 years since the original Pulsar debuted in 2001. The company says the two motorcycles retain the core Pulsar formula of performance and road presence, while getting significant updates underneath.
Visually, the new Pulsar 125 and 150 carry over the model line’s familiar silhouette and muscular tank. The biggest change comes at the front, with both bikes getting a redesigned LED headlamp and taillamp along with new colours.
The highlight on the features front is a new 5-inch TFT instrument console that supports Google Maps mirroring for turn-by-turn navigation, along with on-console storage for documents such as the RC and insurance. It also displays live call and message alerts and comes with music controls. Both motorcycles get three ride modes – Road, Rain and Sport, there’s also a new Crawl Tech feature which prevents the bike from stalling in lower gears without any throttle input. The top three variants of both the Pulsar 150 and Pulsar 125 get an Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) with automatic start-stop, which also gives them a silent start.
The Pulsar 150 is now powered by a 149.5cc engine that makes 14PS and 14.1Nm. The Pulsar 125 uses a 124.58cc engine – which Bajaj claims is the most powerful in the 125cc segment – producing 12PS and 11.4Nm. Both bikes also get an updated gearbox. Underpinning both motorcycles is a new diamond-type frame, with the engine now acting as a stressed member for added stiffness. At the rear, a new monoshock handles suspension duties.
Prices for the Pulsar 125 start from ₹93,000 ex-showroom and go all the way up to ₹1.04 lakh ex-showroom. For the Pulsar 150, the prices start from ₹1.15 lakh ex-showroom and tops at ₹1.23 lakh ex-showroom.
