PC hardware manufacturers have been bringing in budget-spec gaming components to the Indian market to cater to the growing PC-building and gaming culture in the country. Lenovo’s Legion R27fc-30 27-inch curved monitor is a great contender at its price point of ₹23,690.

It is fairly simple to set up right out of the box. The display’s stand, although really sturdy, stable and cool looking, is rather large, takes a lot of space and might not be ideal for small desks. However, it also allows height, swivel and tilt adjustment and both landscape/portrait orientations, which is unique in the budget segment.

The monitor gets dual HDMI 2.1 ports, one DisplayPort 1.4 and a 3.5mm audio jack, but misses out on a USB port. Dual three-watt speakers handle your basic audio requirements. The display has a 1500R curvature, which does make for an immersive gaming experience. Coming to the panel itself, it is a 27-inch VA LCD with a native resolution of 1920×1080, 16:9 aspect ratio and comes with HDR10 support and a 240Hz refresh rate, which can be overclocked up to 280Hz.

The monitor performs well when gaming with its 0.5s MPRT, AMD FreeSync and VESA Adaptive Sync support for smooth frame pacing, decent colors, good shadow detail and nice blacks. However, just FHD resolution on a curved monitor this size doesn’t bode well for sharpness and I didn’t find it comfortable to read or type text using this monitor for more than a few minutes (might be a ‘just me’ scenario).

Overall, it is a solid buy in this price range for its motion clarity and ergonomic adjustments alone and will suit budget gamers just fine.
