Avore Electric has entered India’s electric motorcycle space with the launch of its EX Series, the brand’s first electric motorcycles. Available in three variants – the EX 1, EX 2 and range-topping EX 2S – with prices starting from ₹1.25 lakh (ex-showroom) and going all the way up to ₹1.70 lakh. Avore Electric is the EV brand of Samarth E-Mobility, and the company says the motorcycle has been developed in-house at its Ahmedabad Research and Development Centre over the past three years.
The EX gets LED lighting all around with LED DRLs that extend to the tank. The EX 2S and EX 2 will be offered in three dual-tone colour options – Starlit Blue, Meteor Red and Stellar Black – while the EX 1 gets the same three shades in single-tone finishes.
In terms of features, the EX series gets a 7-inch LCD instrument cluster, and the one on the EX 2S is a TFT touchscreen unit. The EX range also gets different riding modes with reverse mode, and the EX 2S gets two additional modes: an AI mode which tracks ride statistics and can also diagnose the motorcycle and a special ‘Syft’ mode is also there, in which the rider can shift between four gears (these are not mechanical gears, it adjusts the motor output depending on the gear). The EX 2S also counts how many times the rider has honked, so that the rider can be mindful of the horn usage.
Power ranges from 7.5kW (10.1PS) on the EX 1 and EX 2 to 10.5kW (14.2PS) on the EX 2S, with all three variants producing a claimed 250Nm of peak wheel torque. Top speed is 100kmph for the EX 1 and EX 2, and 114kmph for the EX 2S.
IDC-certified range stands at 160km for the EX 1, 255km for the EX 2 and 260km for the EX 2S. The EX 2 and the EX 2S get a 1500W on-board fast charger, while the EX 1 gets a 750W on-board charger. Avore claims a 20-80 percent charge takes around two hours.
