The Honda ZR-V has arrived in India, and it’s now the most expensive car the brand has ever sold in the country. Brought in via the CBU route from Japan, it stands out in its segment as the only SUV powered by a strong-hybrid setup.
The ZR-V measures 4,567mm in length, 1,840mm in width, and 1,621mm in height, riding on a 2,655mm wheelbase. It has a turning radius of 5.5 metres and comes equipped with 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.
Step inside, and the cabin is finished in black with leatherette upholstery. The SUV gets a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and wireless Apple CarPlay, paired with a 12-speaker Bose surround sound system. The driver’s seat is 8-way electrically adjustable with a memory function, while the passenger seat gets 4-way electric adjustment. A 10.2-inch digital driver’s display sits ahead of the driver, and connectivity is handled via USB-A and USB-C ports along with wireless charging. On the safety front, the ZR-V comes with a 360-degree camera system and eight airbags as standard.
Power comes from Honda’s strong hybrid system, pairing a 2.0-litre petrol engine – running on the Atkinson cycle, similar to the City Hybrid – with a dual-motor setup. Combined output stands at 184PS and 315Nm, sent through an e-CVT. Honda claims a fuel efficiency of 22.79kmpl for the SUV.
It’s backed by a 3-year, unlimited-kilometre standard warranty, extendable up to 7 years, with the battery covered for 8 years or 1.6 lakh kilometres, and hybrid components covered for 5 years or 1 lakh kilometres.
The Honda ZR-V has been launched in India at an introductory price of ₹48 lakh, arriving via the CBU route as the brand’s new flagship SUV offering. It competes against the Škoda Kodiaq, Volkswagen Tayron, Jeep Meridian, etc.
