MG Motor has launched the Hector Tomahawk PHEV alongside the Hector Tomahawk EV, with BaaS pricing starting from ₹21.79 lakh and ₹3.2/km for the battery. It shares its ADAPT platform underpinnings with the Tomahawk EV.
The Tomahawk PHEV gets a busier front end than the EV, with a large functional grille, chrome elements and a bull bar-like silver trim piece on the bumper. On the sides, it gets body cladding over the wheel arches and rocker panel, and 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, with a white roof available in dual-tone colour. At the rear, it gets wraparound rectangular tail-lamps, a sculpted bumper and a silver skid plate. The SUV measures 4,745mm in length, 1,850mm in width and 1,770mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,810mm.
Inside, the cabin mirrors the Tomahawk EV’s layout but switches to a black-and-burgundy colour scheme. The gear selector is mounted on the steering column, freeing up the centre console for two cupholders and a large sliding armrest. It is offered only as a seven-seater, with 192 litres of boot space with all three rows in use.
A 1.5-litre Atkinson-cycle petrol engine is paired with a 20.5kWh battery pack and motor, which produces 201PS and 237Nm. There are four drive modes on offer — pure EV, series hybrid, parallel hybrid and engine direct drive. MG claims an electric-only range of over 115km and a combined range of over 1,100km. It supports 25kW DC fast charging, with MG claiming a 30-80 percent charge in around 35 minutes.
Available in Exclusive and Essence trims for the seven-seater configuration. The Exclusive trim is priced at ₹25.70 lakh ex-showroom, and the Essence trim is priced at ₹27.80 lakh ex-showroom.
