Citroën India’s 2.0 “Shift Into the New” strategy has seen the company’s entire product portfolio receive new variants adorned with the suffix X. This is interesting because these variants mainly come with a few more features and slight material changes, primarily on the inside, compared to the earlier top-end version. The C3 and the Basalt were the first to receive the X variants, with the Aircross following later.
The Aircross X, which is now the top-end trim starts from from ₹9.77 lakh, going all the way to ₹13.69 lakh, and it comes with a host of small changes like the LED projector fog lamps, Citroën’s Halo 360 degree camera, keyless entry with push button start, cruise control with speed limiter, auto IRVM, ventilated leatherette seats, soft-touch leatherette wrapping on the door and dashboard with gold accents, a redesigned gear selector, ambient and footwell lighting, and roof-mounted AC vents for the second and third row passengers. However, the most significant talking point of the X variant is its AI-powered assistant called CARA, developed by Citroën. Now, we have all seen AI assistants, and most of them are usually gimmicky, but CARA is different to some extent.
CARA can understand and reply in 52 languages, with the ability to switch languages mid-sentence and reply accordingly. It not only replies to your queries, but it can also inform you of the vehicle’s status, including the fuel level, service due date, and more. It is a useful feature, especially for busy individuals who don’t have the time to flip through the service manual to check the next service date. You can rename CARA to anything you like. For example, if you want to rename the AI Assistant after your favourite character from a movie, you can do so by changing it in the settings, and the assistant will reply in the same way as CARA did.
