Will be on offer in two variants – X1 and X2

Kinetic Luna is an iconic nametag in India. When first launched back in 1970, the moped fulfilled the dream of owning a vehicle for many. Five decades later, Kinetic Green is trying to recreate the same, this time in an electric avatar. Kinetic Green says the E-Luna is targeted at both urban and rural markets as well B2B use cases.

The E-Luna’s design is the biggest callback to the OG Luna of the yesteryear. It borrows the utilitarian design cues from its predecessor sans the iconic pedals. It will be on offer in five colour options. That being said, it does get a few modern features like a digital instrument cluster, three riding modes, side stand cut-off sensor and a USB-A port.

A 2.2kW peak capacity mid-mounted BLDC motor can propel the E-Luna to a top speed of 50kmph (claimed). Powering the scooter is a 2kWh swappable battery pack placed under the rider’s seat with a claimed range of 110km on a single charge. It can be charged from 0-100 percent in four hours using a standard socket. Kinetic Green will also be introducing more variants of the E-Luna with a smaller 1.7kWh and a bigger 3kWh battery pack that is expected to have a claimed range of 150km.

The E-Luna is underpinned by a dual-tubular, high-strength steel chassis with an all-metal construction and tips scales at just 96kg. It has a payload capacity of 150kg, which could come in handy for B2B use cases. Suspension hardware includes telescopic forks up-front and twin-shock absorbers at the rear, while the braking duties are handled by drum brakes at both ends with a combi-braking setup.

One can pre-book the electric scooter for a token amount of Rs 500 and the deliveries of the E-Luna are expected to start soon. Along with Kinetic Green dealerships, the E-Luna will also be available on E-commerce websites like Amazon and Flipkart.
