Back in May, Aston Martin revealed the DB12 to the world and now it’s blitzed its way to India at a starting price of Rs 4.59 crore, ex-showroom without customisation options. This is the true successor to the DB11 with plenty of changes while also staying true to the elegant DB moniker we all know and love.
What’s new in the Aston Martin DB12? For starters, the DB12 is longer and wider than the DB11 it succeeds. There’s also a larger grille and redesigned lights. Under the hood, there’s a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8, pumping out 680PS and 800Nm. Aston says it will do 0-100kmph in 3.6 seconds and hit a top speed of 325kmph. The extra grunt comes from larger turbochargers, higher compression ratio and a more robust cooling system.
The interior is all-new, and Aston is known for their extremely well-appointed cabins. It looks like creature comfort was a priority in its design, as the overall layout looks cleaner than the DB11. There’s even wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Unlike a lot of its competitors, Aston decided not to ditch all physical switchgear entirely!
The Aston Martin DB12 will sit in its own niche, with zero competition from other supercar manufacturers, as the Ferrari Roma is the closest possible competitor.
