Triumph Motorcycles has unveiled the new Bonneville T40 and T40 Black, bringing the Bonneville design to its smaller-capacity range. It features classic styling inspired by the retro Triumph Bonnevilles from the 1960s, with a teardrop fuel tank, round headlight, spoked wheels and twin rear shocks.

The Bonneville T40 stays true to its traditional Bonneville look, with three two-tone colour options, hand-painted coach lining, chrome-finished details and a brushed steel exhaust. The T40 Black takes it towards a Matt Pewter Grey and Matt Phantom Black paint, blacked-out components and gloss-black aluminium rims with bright spokes.

Both motorcycles are powered by a liquid-cooled 350cc single-cylinder engine producing 29 PS at 7,000rpm and 31.2Nm at 5,500rpm. The engine comes with a six-speed gearbox and gets a dedicated tune for stronger low-end torque. Other highlights include a 4-inch circular TFT display, smartphone connectivity, navigation, cruise control, five riding modes (which include two rider customisable modes) and lean-sensitive ABS and traction control. The T40 gets a 790mm seat height and weighs 195kg.
Triumph is expected to announce the India launch date and pricing details for the Bonneville T40 and T40 Black soon
