Nissan India has launched the Tekton with prices starting at ₹10.49 lakh (introductory, ex-showroom). Positioned to take on the fiercely competitive midsize SUV segment, the Tekton is the sister car to the Renault Duster and is built on the same CMF-B platform.
On the design front, the Tekton takes clear cues from Nissan’s flagship Patrol SUV, which is why the brand has been referring to it as the ‘Baby Patrol’. The front fascia features Tekton lettering on the hood with a large grille and LED headlamps connected via an LED lightbar. It rides on 18-inch alloy wheels, and at the rear gets connected LED tail lamps along with Tekton badging. Buyers get six single-tone paint options – Moonbrow Grey, Indigo Blue, Flare Garnet Red, Blade Silver, Onyx Black, and Pearl White – along with five dual-tone shades, each paired with an Onyx Black roof.
Inside, the top-of-the-line Tekna+ variant gets a dual-tone rose gold and burgundy interior with a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Google built-in, a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster, ambient lighting, a powered tailgate, leatherette upholstery, and front seats that are both powered and ventilated. Boot space stands at 518 litres with the rear seats up. On safety, the Tekton gets Level 2 ADAS, a 360° parking camera, six airbags, ESP, ISOFIX child seat mounts, and seatbelt reminders for all occupants. It has also secured a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating, scoring 30.49/32 for adult occupant protection and 45/49 for child occupant protection.
Under the hood, the Tekton is offered with two turbo-petrol engine options. The base unit is a 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine producing 100PS and 166Nm, paired exclusively with a 6-speed manual gearbox, with a claimed mileage of 19.5kmpl. The more powerful option is a 1.3-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine making 163PS and 280Nm, available with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic, with claimed mileage of 17.8kmpl and 18.5 kmpl respectively. Notably, Nissan has not brought over the Duster’s 1.8-litre strong-hybrid powertrain for the Tekton.
The Nissan Tekton is available across twelve variants, with prices starting at ₹10.49 lakh (ex-showroom) and rising up to ₹18.59 lakh depending on variant and engine choice. Bookings are open today, and deliveries will begin on July 20, 2026. It takes on a long list of rivals, including the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Renault Duster, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, and many more.
