Volkswagen India has launched the Tayron Life, a more affordable, 5-seater variant of the Tayron SUV, priced at ₹41.99 lakh (ex-showroom) – about ₹5 lakh less than the 7-seater Tayron R-Line that arrived in India earlier this year. Positioned as the more accessible version of the same SUV, the Tayron Life is also the second locally assembled Volkswagen model to launch in the country this year.

While the R-Line leans into a sportier, more aggressive look with gloss-black wheel arch cladding, R-Line badging, and 19-inch alloy wheels, the Tayron Life takes a more restrained approach. It gets different bumpers, body-coloured cladding instead of gloss-black, no R-Line badging, and rides on smaller 18-inch alloy wheels.

Inside, the Life gets the same 10.2-inch digital cockpit and a 12.9-inch infotainment system, which is smaller than the unit on the R-Line. An 8-speaker audio system, wireless charging for two phones, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are all standard. Comfort features have been carried over from the R-Line, including 12-way front seats with ventilation, heating, and massage functions, 3-zone automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof, and two-step reclining second-row seats with sliding function. In terms of safety, the Tayron Life comes with nine airbags and Level two ADAS.

The Volkswagen Tayron Life is powered by the same 2.0-litre TSI EVO petrol engine, producing 204PS and 320Nm, paired with a 7-speed DSG gearbox and all-wheel drive as standard. Drivers get a choice of six driving modes – Eco, Comfort, Sport, Individual, Offroad, and Snow.
