What is it?
Very few Indian manufacturers make women-specific riding jackets, Viaterra being one of them. The Ellis claims to be one of the lightest riding jackets offering CE Level 2 protection and it does feel light, just slightly heavier than your puffer jacket. More importantly, it is designed for us women. Due to the lack of women-specific riding jackets, I have ended up buying and wearing men’s jackets and in comparison, the Ellis feels worlds apart — it is so snug and comfortable.
That’s also partly due to the ample ventilation offered by this mesh jacket. It fits like a glove thanks to velcro adjustments in key areas. It gets armour in certain areas such as the back, shoulders and elbows and Cordura construction in non-ventilated areas offer good abrasion resistance. It’s a fantastic daily-use riding jacket!
