JSW Group has announced its new electric mobility solution brand, called Ampstar, conceived for the manufacturing of electric trucks and buses and providing full-stack solutions for commercial electric vehicles. These trucks and buses will be manufactured at the Greenfield facility in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (née Aurangabad), Maharashtra.
The Ampstar brand will, apart from designing, manufacturing and selling electric commercial vehicles, cover charging infrastructure, operating solutions, financing options and, of course, after-sales support. These vehicles will be available to customers in the form of purchase, lease or BaaS (Battery-as-a-Service) options.
These vehicles will be available in various lengths, ranging from 7 to 18 metres. There will also be various body styles for trucks, such as tippers, fixed body trucks, and tractor-trailers. All we can say is that this feels like a new chapter of electric commercial mobility in India, which is taking steps towards the future.
