In a move that solidifies its commitment to sustainable mobility, Toyota has unveiled its Urban SUV Concept based the Suzuki eVX EV concept, providing a glimpse into the future of compact battery electric vehicles (BEVs) slated for a European launch in 2024.
The upcoming production model, set to play a pivotal role in Toyota’s BEV strategy for Europe, promises to be the most compact and accessible model among the six dedicated BEVs slated for introduction by 2026. Toyota is leveraging its success in the B-SUV segment with the hybrid electric Yaris Cross, Toyota aims to apply its expertise to deliver a versatile battery electric SUV to meet the preferences of its European customers.
Toyota believes the Urban SUV Concept stands out with its SUV presence, characterised by a compact body on strong shoulders and a commanding driving position. The interior is designed for maximum space utilisation, offering flexibility that easily adapts to prioritise either passenger or load space as needed.
Toyota will offer the production version of the SUV with a front- and all-wheel-drive powertrains. The production model is set to feature a dual battery strategy, allowing customers to choose between two battery capacities based on their budget or driving range requirements and hasn’t released the battery capacities.
