Hyundai Motor India has released the first design sketches of the Bayon, days after confirming the SUV’s name. The sketches show a front three-quarter exterior view and a full interior view, developed around Hyundai’s Art of Steel design language.
The sketch shows a sculpted hood, pronounced fender and Hyundai’s H-Edge lighting signature up front, sitting above a bumper that also houses a skid plate. Simon Loasby, Senior Vice President and Head of the Hyundai Design Centre, said the brand wanted the Bayon to feel “capable, modern and distinctly its own.” Round the back, it gets slim LED taillamps and a roof spoiler too.
Hyundai’s interior sketch shows a twin-screen dashboard layout with a central dropdown panel for the HVAC controls that retains physical dials and knobs, alongside a wireless charging pad built into the base of a vertically oriented centre console. Hyundai describes the cabin as built around advanced technology, thoughtful design and connected features for tech-savvy users.
