Honda has unveiled the ZR-V, a strong hybrid SUV  brought to our shores via the CBU route. It will be Honda’s flagship SUV in its lineup.

In terms of design, the Honda ZR-V gets a vertical-slat glossy black grille paired with sharp, slim LED headlamps with LED DRLs and sequential turn signals. Air intakes below the headlamps actively reduce drag and complete the front fascia. The rear is designed to emphasise width, using added volume around the lower body. The rear features LED tail lamps, a gun-metallic skid garnish on the rear bumper, a body-colour tailgate spoiler, and a dual exhaust setup, which completes the look. The ZR-V rides on 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and measures 4,567mm in length, 1,840mm in width, and 1,621mm in height, with a 2,655mm wheelbase and a turning radius of 5.5 metres.

Inside, the cabin gets an all-black theme, with a wide horizontal dashboard layout. The centre console houses an array of buttons, including individual gear selector buttons, dive mode selector, hill descent control, electronic parking brake, and brake hold, with USB ports on either side. The seats are wrapped in leather upholstery with armrests on both rows, and the roof lining is made up of Tricot. The ZR-V also features dual-zone climate control, rear AC vents, an 8-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat and a 4-way adjustable passenger seat, ambient lighting, and an electric tailgate.

On the tech front, the ZR-V gets a 9-inch infotainment with Android Auto and wireless Apple CarPlay, a 12-speaker Bose premium surround sound system, and a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster. USB Type-A and Type-C ports, alongside a wireless charging tray, are also offered.

Powering the ZR-V is a strong hybrid setup, which combines a 2-litre petrol engine (which runs on the Atkinson cycle) and a dual motor setup, producing 184PS and 315Nm, mated to an e-CVT. 0-100kmph sprint takes just 7.9 seconds, which is impressive considering the claimed mileage of 22.8kmpl.

Safety is also taken care of as the ZR-V comes with level two ADAS, eight airbags, and a 360° parking camera. Prices of the ZR-V are yet to be announced, but the pre-bookings are open, with deliveries expected to start in the second half of July.
