In the ever-evolving world of urban transportation, electric scooters are slowly gaining momentum. One of the newest contenders in this space is the iVoomi Jeet X ZE, a retro-styled electric scooter. The Jeet has been around for a while and this time around receives comprehensive updates that offer a polished riding experience while retaining its USP — a removable battery. Does the Jeet X impress?
It does, in the styling department. The retro design looks cool and overall the Jeet is a well-proportioned electric scooter — not too big or too small. The square headlamp offers a distinct look, as does the DRL mounted on the front apron. The tail lamp is a flush fitting unit while the front and rear turn indicators are neatly integrated into the bodywork. Fit and finish levels are a mixed bag. While the Jeet impresses with its paint quality and tight panel gaps, it disappoints in certain areas like the gap around the lockable glovebox and the flimsy seat hinge. Even the switchgear quality feels basic and has a sticky operation. Another grouse is the battery placement. We have the larger 3kWh battery variant whose battery sticks out quite a bit from the battery bay and into the storage bin, eating up storage space. Also, the battery pack does not have a brace, causing it to rattle every time we ride over a rough patch.
The digital display is informative, though some information is displayed in a tiny font. It even gets Bluetooth connectivity for navigation, call, and SMS alerts. The 3kWh lithium-ion battery pack (bldc motor) can be charged to 100 percent in under six hours. It supports fast charging up to 18 Ampere. It will reduce the charging time by up to 50%, which means the time can be reduced to 1.5 hours approx from 3.5 hours. The battery is removable, though heavy, so you might not want to take it out often. On the flip side, the claimed range is an impressive 170 km (in Eco mode). We managed to eke out a range of 115 km in city riding, which was mostly done in Speed mode.
The scooter gets a 2.1kW electric motor that delivers 10Nm. Performance is sprightly up to 45 km/h post which it tapers down. The top speed is limited to 61 km/h, making this scooter more suited for city riding. The three riding modes (Eco, Rider, and Speed) do offer different levels of performance.
The iVOOMi Jeet X ZE is priced at ₹1,09,000, while prices for the smaller battery pack variants start at around ₹89,999 (prices, ex-showroom). The Jeet X ZE comes across as quite the affordable no-nonsense scooter with practical range and performance that should suit your city commuting needs well.
