Volvo has launched its flagship six-seater electric SUV, the EX90 in India, which is based on Volvo’s 800V SPA2 platform. It comes in the top of the line Twin-Motor ‘Ultra’ variant and arrives as a CBU. Volvo will also provide a 11kW wallbox charger, a three-year service package, and an assured buyback scheme (with terms and conditions) for buyers who place their booking before December 31, 2026.

Coming to the design, the Volvo EX90 looks  minimalistic and clean. On the front, it gets T-shaped LED headlamps with pixel-like DRLs, and vertically stacked LED fog lamps. The grille is closed-off and gets a Volvo emblem in the front and an air dam lower down. On the side, you notice the 21-inch alloy wheels, and at the back, it gets C-shaped LED tail-lamps connected by a black strip. There are additional LED strips on the rear windscreen as well. Buyers get to choose from six colour options—grey, white, black, blue, red, and beige.

Moving to the interior, the Volvo EX90 gets Nappa leather seats, heating, ventilation, and massage functions for the front seats, a PM 2.5 air purifier, four-zone climate control, laminated side and rear windows, a 14.5-inch infotainment system with Google built-in, a 360-degree camera, a 9-inch driver’s display, a head-up display for the driver, and a 25-speaker Bowers and Wilkins audio system. It also gets—Level-2 ADAS, adaptive air suspension, park assist, a digital key, a wireless charging pad, and a lot more.

The EX90 comes with a twin-motor setup and a 106kWh lithium ion battery. It makes 456PS and 670Nm, has a claimed 0-100kmph time of 5.5 seconds, and a claimed top speed of 180kmph. It has a claimed WLTP range of 625km, and can charge from 10 percent to 80 percent in 22 minutes via a 350kW DC fast charger.

Coming to the price, the EX90 has been launched at an introductory ex-showroom price of ₹1.26 crore. Deliveries are set to start from January 2027, while the customer experiences and drives will begin in November 2026.

Apart from the EX90, Volvo has also shared a teaser of its upcoming electric sedan, the ES90. It marks the brand’s return into the luxury sedan space after the discontinuation of the S90 back in 2024. It is expected to launch in the coming months so stay tuned!
