JSW MG Motors India has gone ahead and launched the first Electric Luxury MPV into the Indian Market with a price tag of ₹ 69.90 lakh, introduced as The MG M9. The MG M9 is to be the first product sold via the MG Select network, MG Select being the premium dealership network from MG Motor.
The MG M9 will be placed in the relatively small market of the Luxury MPVs, to hold its place against the Toyota Vellfire and Kia Carnival Limousine. MG M9 has a large appearance with an overall length just under 5.3 meters. Making it the longest MPV to be on sale in India, for context, the Kia Carnival Limousine length stretches up to nearly 5.2 meters, and the Toyota Vellfire length is below 5 meters. Also, the MG G9 is slightly wider than the Carnival Limousine and Vellfire, having a 2-meter width. The MG M9 will be provided with the three distinct colour options: Concrete Grey, Pearl Lustre White, and Metal Black.
MG Motors terms the M9 as the ‘Presidential Limousine’, not just because of the size, but for the Luxurious offering for the second row, including Presidential Seats with 16-way adjustment, eight massage settings, ventilation, and heating, all controlled by a touchscreen unit integrated into the armrest of these presidential seats. Alongside the luxuries, the MG M9 also offers a 5-star safety rating compliant with the EURO NCAP and ANCAP safety standards. MG Motors has offered the Level-2 ADAS system, with a driver monitoring system for additional safety.
Powering the MG M9 will be the 90kWh nickel-manganese-cobalt battery pack paired with a front-mounted single electric motor, together providing 548 km of range in a single charge, and delivering 245 PS of Power and 350 Nm of Torque. The M9 performance figures outstrips the Power and Torque figures of the Carnival and Vellfire. The lifetime battery warranty from the other MG EVs continues along with M9 as well. The MG G9, along with the 11-kW wall box charger, charges the M9 from 0 to 100 percent in 10 hours.
Deliveries for the MG M9 are starting from August 10, 2025. One can book their MG M9 by paying a sum of ₹1 lakh. The price tag of ₹69.90 lakh makes it sit just between the two rivals, where the Kia Carnival (₹63.91 lakh ex-showroom) is cheaper and the Toyota Vellfire (₹1.33 crore ex-showroom) is priced at a higher end.
