With the championship coming to a close, the young racer from Chennai finishes third in the final standings

Chennai-born motorcycle racer Geoffrey Emmanuel, son of ex-racer Emmanuel Jebaraj, clinched the top step of the podium in the second race of the third round of the Malaysia Superbike Championship. He finished third in the standings at the end of the season.

The race was held at the famous Sepang circuit. Geoffrey scored a podium in the first race as well, coming in third. He was riding in the 250cc class on a Honda CBR250RR, which is not too dissimilar to the Honda NSF250R that he has been riding in Europe this year, as the first-ever Indian rider to compete in the FIM Junior GP.

Geoffrey will probably be the first Indian rider to compete in MotoGP. Speaking of that, we learned that he is likely to race at next year’s Grand Prix of Bharath, to be held at the Buddh International Circuit on September 22nd, 2024.
