Revival of the BSA Brand in India?

Classic Legends which is owned by Mahindra is all set to reintroduce the iconic BSA Gold Star in India, with its debut scheduled for August 15th. The company has released a teaser revealing the motorcycle, which features a 650cc single-cylinder engine adorned with the BSA logo.

The new Gold Star bears a striking resemblance to its 1950s and 1960s predecessors, showcasing classic elements such as abundant chrome accents, round headlights, wire-spoked wheels, a vintage fuel tank design, and nostalgic side panels.

The motorcycle is powered by a 652cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine, delivering 45PS at 5000rpm and 55Nm at 4000rpm, paired with a five-speed gearbox.

With this launch, BSA becomes the third classic motorcycle brand to re-enter the Indian market under Classic Legends. Notably, the Gold Star will be the only 650cc single-cylinder offering in India from the BSA Group.

Priced similarly to the Interceptor 650 in the United Kingdom, the BSA Gold Star is set to compete directly with the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650. Would you choose the nostalgic charm of the BSA Gold Star over the Interceptor 650?
