The changes are largely cosmetic in nature

After commencing bookings a week ago, BMW India has launched the 2 Series Gran Coupe M Performance Edition variant at Rs 46 lakh, ex-showroom. This special edition variant will be sold in limited numbers and bookings are being accepted at the BMW Online Shop.

So what’s new for this 2 Series Gran Coupe variant? For starters, there is a Black Sapphire body shade, a new bespoke M Performance front grille as well as fog lamp inserts and ORVMs finished in Cerium Grey. Rounding off the changes are M Performance stickers around the fenders.

Inside, the main highlight is a gear selector lever getting an M Performance Alcantara finish.  Aside from this, the feature list remains unchanged which includes a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, a panoramic glass roof, ambient lighting, digital driver’s display and a wireless phone charger.

Under the hood will be the 176PS 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that is paired to a seven-speed DCT gearbox. This is enough to have the sedan sprint from 0-100kmph in just 7.1 seconds.

At this price point, the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe M Performance Edition carries a price premium of Rs 2 lakh over the standard model that retails at Rs 43.50 lakh, ex-showroom. In terms of rivals, the sedan has the Mercedes-Benz A-Class Limousine for company.
