Kia Seltos Bags A 5-star In The BNCAP Safety Rating

Kia Seltos scores 31.70 points in AOP and 45 points in COP

Kia has tested the Seltos in the BNCAP safety test and managed to get a combined score of 76.71, the highest across ICE vehicles tested under the BNCAP to date. It scored 31.70 points out of 32 in Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and 45 points out of 49 in Child Occupant Protection (COP).

In the frontal offset deformable barrier test, the Kia Seltos scored 15.70 points out of 16, and offers good protection across the body of the driver and co-passenger, with adequate protection for the feet and left shin region of the driver. In the side movable deformable barrier test, it gets a perfect score with 16 out of 16 points, and offers good protection to the driver and co-passenger.

In terms of Child Occupant Protection, the Seltos scored eight out of eight points in the front crash test and four out of four points in the side crash test for the 18-month-old dummy child. It also scored a perfect score with eight out of eight in the frontal and four out of four side crash test for the 3-year-old dummy child.

With these new ratings, the Kia Seltos sets a new benchmark in Adult Occupant Protection for ICE vehicles, overtaking the Tata Sierra. These ratings apply to all the variants of the Kia Seltos.
