Ducati has launched the Desmo450 MX with prices starting at ₹17.34 lakh ex-showroom. It is also Ducati’s first-ever motocross motorcycle, developed and tested on the tracks of the MXGP world championship.
Powering the Desmo450 MX is Ducati’s 449.6cc single-cylinder engine with a Desmodromic valve system, producing 63.5PS and 53.5Nm. The suspension comprises fully adjustable Showa units with 310mm of travel at the front and 301mm at the rear. The chassis is made up of aluminium with minimal welds to keep the weight down without compromising on structural rigidity. It also features electronic aids like traction control, launch control, engine brake control, and two riding modes.
The Ducati Desmo450 MX will only be available at four select Ducati dealerships, which
are Ducati New Delhi, Ducati VFM Bengaluru, Ducati Chennai, and Ducati Pune. Ducati is also offering a wide range of accessories, like the machined wheel hubs and triple clamps, a complete Akrapovic titanium exhaust system, and Brembo Racing brake callipers. A dedicated apparel collection created with Durdi Performance featuring Alpinestars is also available. It is a full-fledged motocross motorcycle with no lights and mirrors, hence, not street legal and also demands race-bike-like maintenance, like piston replacement, which is set at 45 hours together with the valve clearance check, and total engine overhaul is set at 90 hours. All things considered, it is arguably the most high-tech dirtbike you can buy in India.
