Ferrari has unveiled the Ferrari Amalfi Spider! Apart from the soft top convertible roof, which can fold up in 13.5 seconds at speeds of up to 60kmph, it is identical to its Coupe counterpart in terms of powertrain; they even share the same time to 0-100kmph of just 3.3 seconds despite the added 85kg of weight which the Spider has gained because of additional chassis bracings.

The showstopper is obviously the drop-top design with a retractable fabric roof that can be specced in four different colours. When folded, it is just 220mm thick to maximise luggage capacity, offering 255 litres with the roof up and 172 litres with the roof down. The roof is made up of a five-layer fabric to provide better NVH and heat insulation, and wind deflectors have also been added to the backrest of the rear seats to reduce turbulence. Ferrari also offers an exclusive Rosso Tramonto colour option for the Amalfi Spider, which is not available on the Coupé.

Inside, the Amalfi Spider features a dual-cockpit design in a 2+2 configuration, just like the Coupé Amalfi. The interior features a 15.6-inch digital instrument cluster with air vents in a single housing, a 10.25-inch infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and an 8.8-inch passenger display showing parameters such as G-force and engine revs. It also features a central tunnel made up of a solid aluminium block, a three-spoke steering wheel with physical buttons and the iconic start button, a wireless charging pad, automatic climate control, powered seats, and ADAS.

Under the hood, the Amalfi Spider comes equipped with a 3.9-litre flat-plane twin-turbo V8 producing 640PS and 760Nm and can rev all the way up to 7,600rpm! Mated to an 8-speed F1 DCT gearbox. The Spider retains the brake-by-wire of its Coupe counterpart for more precise braking, as well as an active spoiler with three active configurations capable of generating 110kg of downforce at 250kmph with a drag increase of less than 4 percent. It also comes equipped with ABS Evo and Side Slip Control (SSC) 6.1 for better handling and maximising performance in every situation. It competes with the likes of Aston Martin DB12 Volante, Bentley Continental GTC, and 911 Turbo S Cabriolet.
