Volkswagen India is set to start accepting bookings for the Golf Gti on May 5. Bookings will open exclusively on the brand’s official website, the price announcement is expected later in May, with deliveries starting from June through selected Volkswagen dealerships. The Golf Gti will be here as a Completly Builtup Unit (CBU) and is expected to cost upwards of ₹50 lakh (ex-showroom).

Golf GTi is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, which churns out 265PS and 370Nm, which is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. It also gets an electronic front-axle differential lock and Volkswagen claims the 0-100 dash in 5.9 seconds and a top speed electronically limited to 250kmph.
