Volkswagen India continues to make new additions to the Virtus and Taigun lineup, with these Black Editions being the latest ones. It comprises the Deep Black Pearl shade which was previously not available on the 1.0 TSI models. Customers can now spec their 1.0 TSI Virtus and Taigun models with this shade but only for the Topline trim level.

The price for the Virtus 1.0 TSI Topline starts at Rs 14.90 lakh, ex-showroom, for the manual transmission-equipped car, whereas for the Taigun 1.0 TSI Topline, it starts at 15.84, ex-showroom, again, for the manual.

The 1.0 TSI models come with a 999cc inline 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine developing 115PS and 178Nm and can be paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.

The main rivals of Virtus are the Skoda Slavia and the Hyundai Verna, whereas the Taigun is smack bang in the middle of the highly competitive midsize SUV segment which has cars like the Skoda Kushaq, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, MG Astor, Citroen C3 Aircross and Honda Elevate.
