The Royal Enfield Rider Mania returns after two years and was as lively as ever
For the third weekend of November every year, all roads lead to Goa, not only for Royal Enfield owners but for bikers in general. At least that's what used to be the case until the Covid-19 pandemic shook the world and redefined our priorities. Rider Mania was cancelled for the years 2020 and 2021. However, in 2022, the world is almost back to normal, and Rider Mania returns once again!
For three days, Royal Enfields took over North Goa, and streets reverberated with the thumps of single and twin-cylinder engines. Riders poured in from all over the country, as far away as Himachal and Meghalaya, and even from places outside the country - England, Australia, USA among many others. United by the love of motorcycles in general, and by loyalty to a brand whose history is part of world history itself, having begun in 1901.
Royal Enfield had something for everyone at this year's Rider Mania and the one that stood for all was the Indian unveiling of the new Super Meteor 650, which debuted to the world for the first time in EICMA earlier this year. As for activities planned by Royal Enfield, there were talks hosted by various luminaries. There were dirt track races for all kinds of racers with all kinds of bikes. That being said, if you wanted something calmer, you could head over to the live T-Shirt printing and helmet painting sections, or check out the custom motorcycles, gleaming in the light. Of course, all of these were accompanied by great food and music.
But when all of that fades, what remains are the people, who are as similar and as different from each other as can be. So many of the clubs print their own tees to commemorate their trip to Rider Mania, it's quite evident that this is an annual pilgrimage for them. Before you say this is what biking clubs do, let me tell you, a lot of these clubs travelled with their entire families, and I can't even begin to fathom their dedication.
And that is what Rider Mania is all about. Even if you don't know what you're looking for, there's a high chance that you may find it there.
