• Updated Tata Tigor EV launched at Rs 12.49 lakh

It now gets more range and previously promised features from the Tiago EV

In September 2022, Tata launched the new Tiago EV, its first electric hatchback with class-leading features; the manufacturer promised that those features will soon be available on the Tigor EV. That day has arrived as Tata has launched the updated Tigor EV with higher range and new features. There’s a slight premium for the added features though, so without further ado, here are the detailed variant vise prices:

Tigor EV trims

Prices (ex-showroom)

XE

Rs 12.49 lakh

XT

Rs 12.99 lakh

XZ+

Rs 13.49 lakh

XZ+ LUX

Rs 13.75 lakh

The electric motor of the Tigor EV produces 75PS of power and 170Nm torque. Its 26kWh battery pack helpsb the car achieve an ARAI claimed range of 315km on a single charge.

New features include leatherette upholstery, leather-wrapped steering wheel, rain sensing wipers, auto headlamps and cruise control. Other additional features like multi-mode regen, ZConnect connected car technology, smartwatch connectivity and iTPMS are standard across the range. Existing Tigor EV owners will get specific features from the updated model via a software update free of charge.

It will be interesting to see what people will opt for, the top end Tiago EV or the base variant of the Tigor EV, which is essentially the same car but with a larger boot. A similar situation arises with the top end Tigor EV and the Nexon EV base model, which is a much bigger car with similar range figures. In the end, it is a win-win situation for Tata Motors.
