It is slated for a launch in India by 2024
We know that Ola Electric is known to sell electric two-wheelers, but the company is looking to enter into the four-wheeler EV space. Now, we’ve got details about Ola’s first ever electric car which is slated to go on sale by mid-202. We’ve also gotten a few glimpses of its design thanks to a teaser video.
So what can we expect for the Ola electric car? For starters, the teaser video of the concept suggests a crossover coupe body style with an LED light spanning the width of the front end. Bhavish Aggarwal, CEO of Ola Electric, claims that the new EV will get a panoramic glass roof and is set to be quite the slippery EV with a drag coefficient below 0.21.
Under the hood, details are scarce, but it is claimed to give over 500km of range on a single charge and sprint to 100kmph from a standstill in under four seconds. As for battery tech, Ola Electric recently inaugurated its Battery Innovation Centre for future battery development. The EV will likely be juiced up by Ola's new 2170 Lithium ion cell. Expect fast charging capabilities as well.
The new EV will also come with some interesting tech on board, starting with Ola’s MoveOS operating system. It has also been teased with ADAS driving assists.
Ola’s first electric car could be priced from Rs 40 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards with potential rivals likely including the Kia EV6.
