The partnership will explore opportunities to expand EV infrastructure and accelerate EV adoption in India
MG Motor and Castrol India are collaborating with Jio-bp to explore various mobility solutions for electric cars in India. This development is expected to boost the adoption and mobility of electric vehicles (EV) in the country. According to the partnership, Castrol, MG Motor and Jio-bp will scout opportunities to set up EV charging infrastructure for four-wheelers and also expand Castrol’s existing auto service network to cater to EV customers.
Jio-bp and MG Motor have committed in recent times to provide vast and reliable charging infrastructure to the customers of electric cars and accelerate the adoption of EVs in India. And this partnership is in line with their commitment and the construction and launch of two of India’s largest EV charging hubs in the last year by Jio-bp is a reflection to that. The joint venture’s electric mobility business operates under the Jio-bp pulse brand and with the Jio-bp pulse mobile app, it is very easy for customers to find nearby charging stations and seamlessly charge their EVs.
Ever since it entered India, MG Motor has always been committed to a sustainable electric mobility future. This partnership will also look toward creating EV-friendly roads for inter-city and intra-city travel and set up a robust EV charging and service infrastructure in the country.
Castrol will develop and expand its existing multi-brand Auto Service network and Express oil Change centres to start serving four-wheeler electric cars and these services will be offered across India at both Jio-bp mobility stations and select Castrol Auto Service workshops initially.
