Mahindra has launched the updated XUV 7XO in India with prices starting at ₹13.66 lakh for the AX GMT variant and goes up to ₹22.47 lakh for the AX7L DMT variant. However, the prices are introductory for the first 40,000 units. Test drives for the 7XO will begin on January 8 and deliveries of the top variants will commence on the 14th. The delivery for the base variants is scheduled to begin in April 2025.

Apart from the change in its name from 700 to 7XO, the XUV now gets some notable upgrades. On the outside, the XUV 7XO now carries design cues from its electric siblings. The front now boasts a new design for the grill with vertical chrome inserts, while the LED DRLs too are narrow and compact. At the rear, it features  a new design for the LED tail  lamps. Additionally, there is a new design for the alloy wheels.

On the inside, the XUV 7XO gets a new colour theme for the upholstery and a similar three-screen setup, just like we have seen in the XEV 9E, with a dedicated 12.3-inch screen for the front passenger. The two-spoke steering wheel features touch-sensitive panels to control the air-conditioning and heating inside the cabin. The XUV 7XO gets a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, a ‘Boss Mode’ for the front passenger seat, a 16-speaker Harman Kardon music system with Dolby Atmos, wireless charging pads, a plethora of USB ports and a dual-zone climate control system. The 7XO gets seven airbags for the top variant, a 540-degree camera setup, electronic parking brake with auto-hold and ISOFIX child seat mounting points. It also gets Level 2 ADAS with adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist and automatic emergency braking.

The updated XUV 7XO carries over the same powertrain and transmission options from the previous generation. It continues to be offered with the 2-litre turbocharged petrol engine making 202PS/380Nm and the 2.2-litre diesel engine making 185PS/450Nm. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic for both the petrol and diesel engines. The XUV 7XO competes with the likes of the Tata Safari, Hyundai Alcazar and the MG Hector.
