The pricing of the Triumph Scrambler 400 X has finally been announced, and at Rs 2.63 lakh, ex-showroom, it commands a premium of Rs 30,000 over the Speed 400, which retails at Rs 2.33 lakh, ex-showroom. While the two motorcycles share the same engine, there are quite a few differences owing to the off-road focused nature of the Scrambler 400 X.

In proper scrambler style, it rides on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels, with tyre sizes being 100/90 R19 and 150/60 R17 respectively. It features a set of Big Piston USD forks cooped with a rear monoshock, both of which have 150mm travel, up from the Speed 400’s 140mm at the front and 130mm at the rear.

Also, the rear ABS can be switched off. The radial caliper bites down on a 320mm single disc at the front and there’s a 230mm disc at the rear. The rake is steeper at 23.2 degrees compared to the Speed 400 which has 24.6 degrees of rake. However, Triumph uses an offset front axle to provide 108mm of trail over the 102mm of the Speed 400. The seat height is taller by 45mm over the Speed, coming in at 835mm and it weighs 9kg more at 185kg.

Its main rivals in the market comprise the upcoming Royal Enfield Himalayan 452, the KTM 390 Adventure X and the BMW G 310 GS.
