Tesla has launched the bigger and taller version of the Model Y, the Tesla Model Y L. It is 150mm longer and 44mm taller than the standard Model Y, and in terms of design, it remains more or less the same except for new design for wheel covers, a new boot lip spoiler, and a new ‘Cosmic Silver’ body colour.

The main highlight is on the inside, it gets three rows and a seating of up to six people, the third row has ample space with one-touch folding operation. The middle row gets electrically adjustable captain seats which comes with heating and ventilation, along with electric arm rests and one-touch folding operation. The front row also gets heated and ventilated seats with 16-way electric adjustability, it also gets a 16-inch display with most of the operations baked into it, and an 8-inch display for rear passengers. The interior also gets a new ‘Zen Grey’ shade.

The Tesla Model YL gets a dual-motor setup, meaning all-wheel drive capabilities and a claimed WLTP range of 681km. 0-100kmph in just five seconds with a top speed of 201kmph. Adaptive suspension with electronic damping is also offered for better handling.

Priced at ₹61.99 lakh, the Tesla Model YL is almost ₹2 lakh costlier than the standard Model Y and for that extra sum, it offers better performance and value.
