Tata Sierra Launched at ₹11.49 lakh

Tata Motors has launched the new Sierra, starting at ₹11.49 lakh, which is an introductory price and will go up later. It will be offered with three 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine options – a naturally aspirated as well as a turbocharged petrol and a turbocharged diesel. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed automatic and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.

Design-wise, the new Tata Sierra comes with a boxy-looking rear, a high front and square-looking wheel arches, all of which is to mimic the silhouette of the original. It gets a thick B-pillar and features LED lightbars, vertically stacked LED headlamps, panoramic sunroof and a powered tailgate. You also get the option of 17-, 18- or 19-inch alloy wheels, depending on the variant.

The new Tata Sierra is 4,340mm long, 1,841mm wide and 1,715mm tall. It has a wheelbase of 2,730mm and a ground clearance of 205mm. It also has a generous boot space of 622 litres and you can extend it to 1,257 litres when you fold the rear seats down.

On the inside, the new Sierra features a 3-screen setup with a 12-speaker audio system from JBL and Dolby Atmos. The infotainment system comes with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Creature comfort includes ambient lights, dual-zone automatic climate control, ventilated front seats, a power-adjustable driver seat, a wireless phone charger and rear window sun shades. It also comes with two drive modes and three terrain modes.

For safety, the car maker has given the Sierra six airbags, disc brakes on all four wheels, a 360-degree camera, ABS with electronic brake force distribution, ISOFIX child seat anchor points, hill-hold assist and Level 2 ADAS.
