Renault has updated the Triber for the 2026 model year, with the top Emotion trim now coming with automatic climate control and a revised seat mechanism for the second row. The entire range has gotten slightly pricier too, with prices having been increased by ₹5,000 to ₹9,000. The range-topping Emotion trim now costs ₹8.00 lakh ex-showroom for the manual transmission, while the Triber range now starts from ₹5.81 lakh, all ex-showroom.

Here is the updated price list:

VariantNew priceOld priceDifference
Authentic₹5.81 lakh₹5.76 lakh₹5,000
Evolution₹6.70 lakh₹6.63 lakh₹7,000
Techno₹7.39 lakh₹7.32 lakh₹7,000
Emotion₹8.00 lakh₹7.91 lakh₹9,000
Emotion AMT₹8.48 lakh₹8.39 lakh₹9,000

Apart from the automatic climate control for the Emotion trim, the second-row seat mechanism has also been tweaked—the lever to activate the fold-and-tumble motion is not at the top, but at the bottom. Furthermore, the second row can now be fully folded, increasing the already generous cargo space to a massive 1,065 litres with the second and third rows folded down.

It is not just the top Emotion trim that gets extra goodies, though, as the Techno trim now comes with a driver’s seat armrest, a height-adjustable driver’s seat, a rear defogger, a 12V socket for the third row, front tweeters, and electric foldable outside rearview mirrors (ORVMs), previously exclusive to the top trim.

Finally, the Evolution trim now comes with steering-mounted controls, a day/night adjustable interior rearview mirror (IRVM), and a rear cabin lamp, previously found only on the Techno variant.

Renault’s sub-four metre MPV, the Renault Triber, has gotten its first update since its launch back in 2019. The updated Renault Triber comes with a revised price tag, starting at ₹6.30 lakh and going up to ₹8.65 lakh ex-showroom. Now, with the Easy-Fix seat offerings, the Triber can achieve a five, six, or seven-seater configuration. Renault claims to have made as many as 35 design changes for the new Triber.

The major visible change will be the completely redesigned front fascia, showcasing a new grille, a new hood, a redesigned bumper, and advanced LED projector headlamps with integrated LED DRLs, giving it a refreshed look. The 2025 Renault Triber is also the first car from the French manufacturer to sport its redesigned logo. The facelifted Triber also features an updated interior with dual-tone treatment, a revised dashboard layout, and an 8-inch floating touchscreen display with wireless smartphone connectivity.

Renault has introduced new safety features in the Triber facelift, including six airbags as standard across all variants and a front parking sensor. Also, Renault has made the three-point seat belts standard for all the variants, with ISOFIX child seat anchorage, in addition to the feature list, the ‘Follow Me Home’ feature has been included as well. The facelifted Triber will be offered in four distinct variants: Authentic, Evolution, Techno, and Emotion.

Under the hood, the Triber still houses the same 1-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine, delivering a maximum power output of 72PS at 6250rpm and a torque output of 96Nm at 3500rpm. Facelifted Triber will be offering two transmission options: the AMT being available only on the top Emotion variant (for Rs 52,000) and a 5-speed manual, being offered across all the variants. Renault is also offering the standard warranty of three years and an extended warranty of seven years / unlimited kilometre coverage under the Renault Secure program. Also, government-approved CNG retrofitment kits will be offered on the Renault Triber with a warranty of three years.

As part of the ‘Renault Rethink’ strategy—aimed at revamping the positioning of the French automaker in the Indian market—Renault has unveiled a reimagined version of its iconic diamond logo. Renault’s iconic diamond logo has been “reimagined with clean lines, geometric precision, and interlocked shapes” according to the company. This new logo represents a new future for the iconic French marque.

In point of fact, the diamond logo dates back to 1925. Since appearing on 40CV Type NM executive tourer (look it up, it is an amazing-looking pre-war slice of exotica), the logo took its now-familiar shape in 1972 where it lost the pointed corners for a more rounded look and since then it has essentially remained unchanged. The current logo is more similar to the 1972 logo than its immediate predecessors, just with fewer lines.

The new logo that is seen here will come on all future products of Renault in India, starting with the 2025 version of the Renault Triber. The Renault Triber, the French marque’s MPV, is getting an update to bring it more in line with the needs of the customers of today. We will see the car tomorrow  (July 23 2025) itself; however, the manufacturer has revealed a minuscule sneak peek behind the curtain and gives a glimpse of the front end of the upcoming Renault Triber.

Since its 2019 launch, the Renault Triber has soldiered on virtually unchanged, so this will be the first major update of the sub-four metre MPV. The Carmaker is most likely to focus on the interior and features of the car rather than the mechanicals, which comprises a proven 1.0-litre engine, pumping out 72PS and coupled with either a manual tranny or an AMT.

While the launch of the updated Renault Triber is definitely good news for customers looking for a sub-four metre SUV, what Indian customers are really looking forward to is the return of the Duster, a car that single-handedly established the French car manufacturer on our roads. The Duster has managed to amass a cult following during its tenure in the subcontinent, and the customers are waiting, with the proverbial chequebook in hand, for its return. We can safely say that it will sport the new logo as well!

As you might have read in our previous issues, the Renault Triber has been successfully fulfilling duties as a support car on our shoots and has also been Saneet’s daily driver for a while. During this period he often complained to me about how he was left wanting for more performance. And I had similar first impressions. The Triber is not fun to drive, but its abilities lie somewhere else.

After years of reading just about fast cars, our mind tends to expect performance from everything we drive, but one year of working as an automotive journalist has helped me gain some perspective. Unlike us enthusiasts, cars are simply a medium of transportation for the majority of people and practicality and affordable maintenance are a high priority. This is where the Triber shines. Its excellent space management means that there is enough space for seven people to travel comfortably for short distances. In fact there was a time when four to five of us would carpool in the Triber with the only complaint being that the DJ (front passenger) wasn’t playing the right tunes and the plastic quality wasn’t the best, especially at common touchpoints. The air conditioner is surprisingly effective too. From a driver’s perspective, I liked the light steering, visibility and compact dimensions that allowed me to easily sift through traffic. That being said, I felt the foot pedals are placed a little too inwards, which made it difficult to find a comfortable driving position.

Honestly, a bunch of young enthusiasts who are hungry for performance may not be the best people to appreciate the Triber’s qualities because our priorities are different. But for someone who just needs space and practicality at a very affordable price, there is hardly a better choice apart from the Triber.

Amidst the world of MPVs, where versatility meets practicality, the Renault Triber emerges as a shining star in our long-term fleet. During our short time with this MPV, it has become an instant favourite as the support car for our shoots. The reasons behind this preference can be attributed to its exceptional spaciousness.

At first glance, the Triber presents itself as a seven-seater, but it doesn’t stop there. Most cars in its category would simply offer the option to fold down the rear seats to make room for equipment or luggage. However, the Triber takes it a step further by introducing removable modular third-row seats. This feature transforms it into a cargo-hauling powerhouse, effortlessly accommodating all our camera equipment with room to stash in our photographers as well! Fold down the last row of seats, and the Triber transforms into a cavernous cargo carrier that seems almost unreal for a sub-4-metre car. However, once the last row is removed in just two easy steps, the cargo space becomes a cavernous 625 litres.

Our shoots often kick off in the early morning, providing the ideal opportunity to put the Triber through its paces. It is equipped with a 1.0-litre engine that delivers 72PS of power and 96Nm of torque, mated to an AMT gearbox. Despite a slight lag during gear shifts typical of AMT systems, the Triber remains undaunted in fulfilling its tracking duties. The simple way to mitigate the lag is to shift into Manual mode and take control of the gearshifts. And the Triber obliges! While it’s rare for the Triber to upshift autonomously, it seamlessly downshifts as you decelerate. However, the real highlight, which is “underrated” according to our camera crew, is the suspension tuning. The French automaker has set up the Triber’s suspension to conquer the challenging terrain that Indian roads have to offer. It exhibits stability at higher speeds while easily absorbing bumps and undulations, facilitating smooth shoot sessions. Though the steering lacks enthusiasm, it efficiently fulfils its role.

The Triber interior impresses with its ergonomic layout and abundant space. Features such as the cooled storage compartment in the centre console and separate fan control significantly enhance the crew’s comfort during long shoot days. The inclusion of Android Auto and Apple CarPlay is a welcome addition to this segment, catering to the modern needs of today’s users. The Triber’s ergonomic prowess and practicality truly make it the quintessential do-it-all car priced under ₹ 10 lakh.

In conclusion, the Renault Triber stands out as an exceptional choice for those seeking an all-encompassing vehicle. Its seamless transition between passenger and workhorse roles, efficient performance, and thoughtful interior features solidify its status as the ideal support car for our photo shoots.
