New Delhi, April 9, 2025 – Mahindra Aerostructures Pvt. Ltd. (MASPL), a part of the Mahindra Group, has been awarded a prestigious contract by Airbus Helicopters to manufacture and assemble the main fuselage of its H130 light single-engine helicopter — marking a major milestone for India’s ‘Make in India’ vision and further cementing Mahindra’s position as a trusted partner in the global aerospace supply chain.

The contract was signed in the presence of Shri. Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu, Honourable Minister of Civil Aviation, Government of India, Shri. Vumlunmang Vualnam, Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation, Rémi Maillard, President and Managing Director of Airbus in India and South Asia, and Dr Anish Shah, Group CEO and Managing Director of the Mahindra Group.

Under this agreement, Mahindra will produce the H130’s main fuselage assembly, which will then be shipped to Airbus Helicopters’ facilities in Europe. Industrialisation will commence immediately, with the first cabin assembly scheduled for delivery by March 2027.

Dr Anish Shah, Group CEO & MD, Mahindra Group, said, “We are delighted to deepen our longstanding partnership with Airbus through this pivotal aerostructures contract. As a global leader, Airbus has played a transformative role in nurturing India’s aerospace ecosystem and showcasing it on the world stage. It is an honour for us to build on our proven track record with Airbus, harness our industrial process excellence, and embark on this new initiative. This collaboration highlights our commitment to supporting the Government of India’s flagship ‘Make in India’ program.”

Rémi Maillard, President and Managing Director, Airbus in India and South Asia said, “We have a strategic plan for India and we are implementing it to develop a holistic aerospace ecosystem across all dimensions: assembly, manufacturing, engineering, innovation, digital and training. The H130 fuselage manufacturing contract underscores Airbus’ confidence in the growing industrial excellence of the Indian supply chain, which offers the right mix of competencies and competitiveness. We are glad to extend this bond with India through our latest association with our partner Mahindra Aerostructures.”

Mahindra already supplies a variety of parts and sub-assemblies for Airbus’ commercial aircraft programmes. The latest contract marks a significant milestone for Mahindra as it continues to expand its portfolio of capabilities from parts and sub-assemblies to larger and more complex aerostructures.

For Airbus, India is both a major market and a strategic resource hub. Today, every Airbus commercial aircraft has components and technologies made in India. Currently, Airbus’ annual procurement of components and services from India stands at $1.4 billion.

The H130 is an intermediate single-engine helicopter tailored for passenger transport, tourism and private and business aviation, as well as medical airlift and surveillance missions. It has a wide, unobstructed cabin, which accommodates the pilot and up to seven passengers, providing outstanding visibility through a large wrap-around windscreen and wide windows. Its state-of-the-art technologies, materials, systems and avionics make it a quiet and powerful helicopter.

Tata Motor’s EV arm Tata.ev has signed MOUs with four leading CPOs (Charging Point Operators), namely Tata Power, ChargeZone, Statiq and Zeon Charging to set up an all-new network of Mega Chargers across the country. 500 such Mega Chargers are planned to be operational across key cities and major highways in the first phase, within two years.

The company is initially aiming for superfast chargers and four charging bays at each Mega Charger station and will also provide restroom, refreshment services and 24×7 assistance. These Mega Chargers will be accessible to all CCS2-equipped EVs from other brands, but Tata.ev customers will get priority access and up to a 25-percent preferential tariff. These chargers will be listed on Tata’s IRA.ev app, which will also facilitate payments for their usage. A unified RFID-based payment system will also be deployed across multiple CPOs’ locations.

Tata.ev has also extensively audited 700+ CPOs’ public charging locations against stringent criteria and the IRA.ev app now features a five-point rating scale for these locations. A rating above four stars marks the charger “.ev Verified”. Further, a Unified Charging Call Center has been set up to provide 24×7 assistance to Tata.ev customers for all charging related issues and will even provide route planning assistance for longer trips.

The company has also resolved to install 30,000 new public charging points in collaboration with key CPOs and to help increase the number of EV charging points available in the country to 4,00,000. This figure will include Tata.ev home chargers, community charging stations and public charging facilities.

2025 Ultraviolette F77 Super Street First Ride Review https://turbocharged.in/ultraviolette-f77-super-street-first-ride-review/ https://turbocharged.in/ultraviolette-f77-super-street-first-ride-review/#respond Thu, 06 Feb 2025 16:15:02 +0000 https://turbocharged.in/?p=12566 From Super Sport to Super Street, the F77 is not just sporty but street-friendly too!

The post 2025 Ultraviolette F77 Super Street First Ride Review first appeared on Turbocharged.

]]>
The F77 has been around for over a year, and its USP remains its sporty and unique styling—a hybrid of a fully faired motorcycle and a naked front end. This distinctive design makes it one of the few motorcycles in the world to combine both styles. Ultraviolette even showcased the F77 being tested on slushy trails, rocky terrain, and off-road sections, emphasizing that the platform is more than just sporty. The committed rider triangle, however, deterred some potential buyers. Listening to feedback, Ultraviolette has now introduced a new variant in the form of the F77 Super Street.

What’s new? As the name suggests, the F77 Super Street is now more street-friendly, catering to a broader audience. This is primarily due to an all-new riding position achieved by replacing the clip-on handlebars with a new forged aluminum triple clamp, which holds risers mounted to a flat handlebar. This modification transforms the rider’s posture from a 55-degree lean on the F77 to a more relaxed 80 degrees—akin to transitioning from a super-sport motorcycle to a naked street bike. The new setup significantly improves usability, especially for city and highway riding.

Additionally, Ultraviolette has introduced a deflector under the handlebar, enhancing aerodynamics, a crucial aspect given the more upright seating position. The deflector underwent multiple iterations, reinforcing the brand’s aviation-inspired approach. Other than revised graphics—such as a red belly pan on the Stellar White variant—the motorcycle remains unchanged.

How does It handle? The revised geometry makes the Super Street far more accessible. One can feel it even while getting on the motorcycle and straightening it; it requires way less effort, making city commutes and long highway rides significantly more comfortable. Despite its 200kg weight, the F77’s well-balanced 50:50 weight distribution ensures exceptional handling across varied conditions. While the flat handlebar alters the riding position, the rake angle and steering lock-to-lock distance remain nearly the same. The wider handlebar increases leverage, making the Super Street feel more agile than the F77 Mach 2.

Riding the Super Street on roads and tracks was a revelation. As an F77 owner, I found myself venturing onto places I haven’t even thought of before, like dirt trails and soft terrain. The relaxed riding style made off-road conditions more manageable, allowing me to stand up and ride effortlessly. Soon enough, I was jumping over speed breakers and navigating broken roads on Bangalore’s outskirts.

We then took the Super Street to the Velocity racetrack—a technical 1.2km karting circuit. While we didn’t directly compare it to its sportier sibling, the Super Street proved immensely fun on the track. I couldn’t stop smiling behind my helmet as I clocked nearly 15 laps. Though the F77 Mach 2 would excel on a racetrack, its limited real-world use case makes the Super Street the ideal choice for most riders.

The F77 Super Street is available in two variants, offering identical performance and range compared to the F77. The Super Street and Super Street Recon come with 7.1kWh and 10.3kWh battery packs, priced at ₹2.99 lakh and ₹3.99 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively. Performance remains unchanged, with the F77 producing 36PS, while the Recon delivers 40PS. Torque figures stand at 90Nm and 100Nm, with 0-100kmph achieved in 7.8s and 7.7s, respectively.

With pricing unchanged, buyers can select their preferred riding style. As Ultraviolette continues expanding its lineup, the F77 platform demonstrates remarkable versatility, and the Super Street hints at the exciting future ahead for this innovative brand.
