Ferrari has unveiled the Ferrari Amalfi Spider! Apart from the soft top convertible roof, which can fold up in 13.5 seconds at speeds of up to 60kmph, it is identical to its Coupe counterpart in terms of powertrain; they even share the same time to 0-100kmph of just 3.3 seconds despite the added 85kg of weight which the Spider has gained because of additional chassis bracings.

Ferrari

The showstopper is obviously the drop-top design with a retractable fabric roof that can be specced in four different colours. When folded, it is just 220mm thick to maximise luggage capacity, offering 255 litres with the roof up and 172 litres with the roof down. The roof is made up of a five-layer fabric to provide better NVH and heat insulation, and wind deflectors have also been added to the backrest of the rear seats to reduce turbulence. Ferrari also offers an exclusive Rosso Tramonto colour option for the Amalfi Spider, which is not available on the Coupé.

Ferrari

Inside, the Amalfi Spider features a dual-cockpit design in a 2+2 configuration, just like the Coupé Amalfi. The interior features a 15.6-inch digital instrument cluster with air vents in a single housing, a 10.25-inch infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and an 8.8-inch passenger display showing parameters such as G-force and engine revs. It also features a central tunnel made up of a solid aluminium block, a three-spoke steering wheel with physical buttons and the iconic start button, a wireless charging pad, automatic climate control, powered seats, and ADAS.

Ferrari

Under the hood, the Amalfi Spider comes equipped with a 3.9-litre flat-plane twin-turbo V8 producing 640PS and 760Nm and can rev all the way up to 7,600rpm! Mated to an 8-speed F1 DCT gearbox. The Spider retains the brake-by-wire of its Coupe counterpart for more precise braking, as well as an active spoiler with three active configurations capable of generating 110kg of downforce at 250kmph with a drag increase of less than 4 percent. It also comes equipped with ABS Evo and Side Slip Control (SSC) 6.1 for better handling and maximising performance in every situation. It competes with the likes of Aston Martin DB12 Volante, Bentley Continental GTC, and 911 Turbo S Cabriolet.

Ferrari 355 Reimagined – 355 By Evoluto https://turbocharged.in/ferrari-355-reimagined-355-by-evoluto/ Wed, 04 Mar 2026 12:26:30 +0000 https://turbocharged.in/?p=18201 Reimagined Ferrari 355 producing 420PS with modern creature comforts and reliability

The post Ferrari 355 Reimagined – 355 By Evoluto first appeared on Turbocharged.

]]>
One of the greatest Ferraris ever made, the F355, has been given the full restomod treatment by the British company, Evoluto, and the changes are more than skin-deep.

Evoluto

The process starts by completely stripping the donor car to its bare metal, studying it thoroughly, and then all the critical hard points on the chassis are strengthened through carbon fusing, resulting in a 23 percent increase in torsional stiffness. Additionally, carbon fibre body panels are used to keep the weight down to just 1,250 kg to improve performance.

Evoluto

The 355 by Evoluto’s lines are penned by Callum designs. The reimagination stays true to the original but is more muscular, with increased track width. At the front, it gets larger, deeper cooling intakes with a redesigned front splitter, and the pop-up headlamps are now LED. It also features new ORVMs, flush door handles for improved aero efficiency, and 19-inch forged wheels all-round. Evoluto also offers a plethora of personalisation options, from paint jobs to interior options, to create one-of-a-kind commissions.

Evoluto

Inside, the 355 by Evoluto gets custom bucket seats, fabric door handles, and once more, multiple personalisation options, like the colour of the interior, types of leather, and different material finishes.

Evoluto

Powering the 355 by Evoluto is a thoroughly-reworked version of Ferrari’s F129 V8, which still revs up to 8,500rpm, but now produces 420PS — an improvement of 40PS over the original, mated to a 6-speed gated manual transmission as it should be. Upgrades include Evoluto’s bespoke tuning with their new coil-on-plug ignition system, delivering precise ignition timing, a newly designed quill shaft, a CNC ported head with larger inlet valves for better flow, and a lightweight titanium exhaust system. Furthermore, it features an entirely new wiring and electric architecture for better reliability. Brakes are also upgraded with Brembo 6-piston callipers with slotted discs at the front and 4-piston callipers at the back, with an option for carbon ceramics.

Evoluto

As each restoration is tailored to the owner’s specific requests, the price can vary wildly depending on the options chosen. Limited to only 55 units, the 355 by Evoluto is an exclusive restomod that focuses on the pure analog experience of a classic Ferrari, just with modern convenience and a whole lot more power!

Ferrari Dodici Cilindri https://turbocharged.in/ferrari-dodici-cilindri/ https://turbocharged.in/ferrari-dodici-cilindri/#respond Sat, 15 Jun 2024 07:57:57 +0000 https://turbocharged.in/?p=9490 Ferrari’s 812 Superfast replacement, the 12 Cilindri, uses a traditional V12 sans turbocharging or hybridisation!

The post Ferrari Dodici Cilindri first appeared on Turbocharged.

]]>
Trust Ferrari to buck a few trends and follow a few of its own. While the supercar world embraced forced induction long back and is accelerating hard towards hybrid powertrains, Ferrari has refused to give in, yet again! So in typical Ferrari fashion, the engine powering its new flagship is a naturally aspirated V12. On the same note, Ferrari has also gone in for a quirky name, once again. It’s simply called the 12 Cylinder or 12 Cilindri or ‘Dodici Cilindri’ as an ode to the V12 engine powering it. Ferrari is known to create new benchmarks every time it announces a new flagship supercar and the case with the 12 Cilindri isn’t different.

The V12 uses lighter, titanium connecting rods and forged pistons now, allowing it to rev to a dizzying 9,500rpm. The engine is an evolution of the mighty F140HD unit we’ve seen on the 812GTS and Purosangue both, though the motor has its roots in the legendary Ferrari Enzo. The V12 puts out 820PS at 9,250rpm and 678Nm at 7,250rpm in this guise. Ferrari claims 80 percent of that torque is available from just 2,500rpm. This is beyond imagination on what is meant to be a two-seater GT car! Claimed 0-100kmph time is 2.9 seconds while 0-200kmph can be achieved in 7.9 seconds. Claimed top speed is in excess of 340kmph. And no, the 12 Cilindri does not get all-wheel-drive!

Ferrari also states that meeting emission norms has a huge challenge, but besides that it has also had to work really hard to meet noise limits – now down to a dumber 72dB! As a workaround, Ferrari has thus focused on having occupants enjoy more of the V12 symphony inside the cabin, something we’d certainly appreciate once behind the wheel. Then there’s the car’s design, which ensures it stands out, despite having a bit of an old-school feel. The long hood housing the 65-degree V12 and wedge-shaped nose are the highlights on the design front given the way it is styled. Ferrari also states that aeronautics and sci-fi are sources of inspiration for the 12 Cilindri’s design, which in a way also explains the sharper lines.

The car features active aero in the form of flaps on either side of the spoiler, a first for a front-engined V12 Ferrari, which deploy once you cross 60kmph. Interiors are well, typically Ferrari and very futuristic. The steering houses a plethora of controls as always, besides which the driver and passenger both get their dedicated ‘cockpit’, besides which there’s a third screen in the centre console. The 12 Cilindri will also be offered as a convertible, with the option of a retractable hardtop. Expect it to cost upwards of `10 crore on-road in India, when deliveries commence in the second half of 2025.

The Autódromo José Carlos Pace racetrack, better known as Interlagos is known to create some sensational action. This weekend was a sprint weekend, which meant fans got to see racing action on both Saturday and Sunday!

The Saturday sprint was choc-full of overtakes, and fewer laps meant there was no need for pit stop strategies. Red Bull Racing’s Max Verstappen sneaked past the McLaren of Lando Norris before the first turn and was able to keep his lead for the entire sprint race. The Mercedes drivers started strong, but their tyres fell off a cliff midway and ended up behind the Red Bulls and Lando Norris, instead of challenging the podium.

On Sunday, Verstappen sprinted off the start line and while Norris initially challenged him, he was able to keep his lead over the British driver for the entirety of the race to secure his record 17th win of the season. Fernando Alonso  had a superb battle with Sergio Perez, which went down to the line for the final place of the podium.

Charles Leclerc had terrible luck as his Ferrari SF-23 lost hydraulics and crashed in formation lap, resulting in his retirement. The race started with a literal bang, as Williams driver Alex Albon and Haas drivers Nico Hulkenberg and Kevin Magnussen crashed, with debris flying all over. Some of it even struck Daniel Ricciardo and Oscar Piastri.

Norris was able to capitalise on the crash, and was able to drive from sixth to second. It was impressive enough to warrant the Driver of the Day award for the second consecutive race!

Perez and Alonso’s fight was absolutely scintillating, with the two using all their might to pass each other, but it was Alonso who secured the final podium position, ahead of Perez at the finish line by just 0.053 seconds!

The Brazilian Grand Prix has given weekend long action, but the next race at Las Vegas is an unknown variable. This is where teams lower down the order might be able to surprise others and perform better than others. The next race in two weeks holds the answers to our questions.

At one point in the 2023 Formula One season, it was starting to become a realistic target that Oracle Red Bull Racing would take a clean sweep of victories with Max Verstappen also setting a benchmark of consecutive wins which would be near impossible to beat. Well, the streak has come to an end in a thrilling Singapore Grand Prix with Carlos Sainz winning for Ferrari, making him the only non-Red Bull driver to win a race this season. McLaren’s Lando Norris followed closely in second place with seven-time champion Lewis Hamilton finishing third for Mercedes.

As the race happened

A consecutive pole position for Carlos Sainz was a big advantage on the streets of Marina Bay as the circuit layout is known for making overtakes a difficult affair. Sainz had a trouble-free start and his teammate, Charles Leclerc had an even better one from third position, taking full advantage of the softer compound of tyres to jump the Mercedes of George Russell for second place. For most of the first stint, it was an interesting game of chess at racing speeds as the two Ferraris controlled the pace up front and bunched the pack up to foil any attempts of an undercut strategy.

But it was the safety car caused by Logan Sargeant sending his Williams into the barrier that kicked off the round of pit stops. Amongst the chaos, Leclerc lost out due to traffic in the pitlane and dropped to fifth. Again, Sainz kept up the same strategy of keeping the pack closed up but another twist was in store thanks to the Alpine of Esteban Ocon retiring from the race due to a technical issue, causing a virtual safety car period.

The two Mercedes of George Russell and Lewis Hamilton took a gamble and made an extra pitstop for fresher and softer tyres with 20 laps to go to have a crack at the win. Initially, it looked like the gamble was paying off as both drivers were slicing away two seconds per laps to the leaders. They made quick work of Leclerc and were on the back of Norris in second place and the race leader Sainz with 10 laps to go. However, Sainz played a strategic masterstroke in purposely allowing Norris to be within DRS range to minimise the slipstream effect for the two Mercedes drivers. Nevertheless, it was a close contest till the final lap where a minute error proved costly for Russell as he crashed out of the race in dramatic fashion. When the dust settled, it was Sainz who triumphed, taking a hard-earned second career win ahead of Norris and Hamilton.

As for the Oracle Red Bull Racing squad, it was a good recovery for Verstappen from a shocking 11th on the grid to finish fifth while teammate Sergio Perez finished in eighth position after starting 13th,

Despite it being an off weekend for Red Bull, it is just a minor delay for them to clinch both the drivers’ and constructors’ titles. In the battle for third in the drivers’ standings however, there’s a further twist in the tale as Hamilton has overtaken the Aston Martin of Fernando Alonso and sits 10 points clear with seven races to go. Next week will be the Japanese Grand Prix, slated to take place from September 22-24, 2023.
