Bajaj has launched the 2025 iteration of the Chetak. It is based on a new platform and gets a lot more features. Now called the Chetak 35 Series, it is available in three variants with prices starting at ₹1.20 lakh and going up to ₹1.27 lakh (ex-showroom).

This Chetak might look identical to the outgoing version, but it is a complete generational change. It has a new frame and the battery, which is now housed in the floorboard, is a 3.5kWh unit. Bajaj claims the Chetak now offers a higher IDC range of 153kms and despite the bigger battery, is also lighter by 3 kgs.

A 950W charger has now been integrated into the scooter itself, which can be charged by just using the cable stored in the front glove box. Also, the charging time has come down. Zero to 80 percent charge now takes three hours. It carries the same 4kW motor and the performance is also identical to the previous model where the top speed is 73kmph for the top two models and 63kmph for the base one.

The new frame and repositioned battery have allowed Bajaj to extract more under seat space, which is now 35-litres and can easily house two helmets. The wheelbase has gone up by 25mm and the seat is also longer by 80mm.

The top-of-the-line 3501 gets features in tune with the competition. It now boasts a TFT touchscreen display with integrated maps from Mappls, Bluetooth connectivity, music streaming and screen mirroring. It also supports geo-fencing, theft alert, overspeed alert, remote speed limiting and also allows digital documents to be stored in the dash itself.

For now, Bajaj has only announced the prices of the top two variants and plans to announce the price of the base variant later on. The Chetak competes against the likes of the Ather Rizta, Ola S1 and the TVS iQube and will come with a 3-year/50,000km warranty.
