BRABUS has unveiled the BODO, a 1000PS, 2+2 GT based on the Aston Martin Vanquish. It is a sleek-looking coupé with a long hood and sloping roofline and is limited to 77 units globally with an annual production ranging between 10 to 15 vehicles.

The entire body of the BODO is constructed of high-strength carbon fiber with a focus on aerodynamic efficiency. At the front, it gets bespoke LED matrix headlights and a huge grille with 13 vertical slats. Coming to the side, it gets 21-inch BRABUS Monoblock Z-GT Shadow Edition forged wheels and a ‘77’ badge under the rear window to commemorate the year 1977, when BRABUS was founded. At the rear, it features seven individual LED lights on each side, along with illuminated ‘BRABUS’ lettering, stacked quad exhausts, and an active rear spoiler.

Inside, the cabin is finished in smooth black leather and contrasting Nubuck leather and has multiple carbon fiber elements. The main highlights are the embroidered signature of the Bodo Buschmann integrated into the door panels and an embroidery of the car’s silhouette on the seat backrest.

The BRABUS BODO is powered by a hand-built 5.2-litre twin-turbocharged V12 engine, which produces 1000PS and 1200Nm with a 0-100kmph sprint time of just 3 seconds and a top speed of 360kmph which is electronically limited.

Aston Martin recently brought back the coveted Vanquish nameplate, which in its previous generation was an exceptionally special car though let down a bit by its transmission, but the new Vanquish has no such issues, and it’s now here in India at ₹ 8.85 crore ex-showroom. Cars from the British manufacturer are often called the ‘gentlemen’s supercars’ and are renowned for their signature gorgeous yet restrained styling, large-capacity engines mounted up front driving the rear wheels, and their capability of cruising effortlessly across long distances—the new Vanquish ticks all of these boxes and more.

The new Vanquish will have no problem doing what its name suggests to distances, as it boasts a monumental top speed of 345kmph, which is the highest-ever, at least for a series production Aston Martin. This exceptional performance is courtesy of an all-new, in-house developed 5.2-litre twin-turbocharged V12 engine which belts out 835 PS, 1,000 Nm, and revs to 7,000rpm. An 8-speed ZF automatic gearbox paired with a rear-mounted electronic differential delivers all that power to the asphalt.

Aston Martin has gone to great lengths to differentiate the flagship Vanquish from its siblings. The Vanquish’s front grille is the largest-ever to feature on an Aston Martin, larger even than the gaping maw of the One-77, and helps cool that mammoth V12. The car has been designed with inputs from the Aston Martin Aramco F1 Team and it shows. The shapely bonnet features functional vents to extract the engine heat while serrated carbon fibre fins within those vents ensure the extracted air flows cleanly over the car’s panoramic glass roof. A ducktail spoiler integrated into the boot lid and a kammback-style tail panel take care of the aerodynamics at the rear. The front quarter panels also feature vents while a front lip spoiler, sleek side skirts and a giant rear diffuser help this big bruiser scythe through air.

The new Vanquish is indeed a series production model, although the company has decided to cap annual production under 1,000 units. Each one can be optioned with bespoke customisations from Q by Aston Martin.
