Stellantis & IIT Madras organizes Technical Idea Hackathon

6 teams awarded cash prizes in a total of Rs 4 lakh

Stellantis, in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) and its Centre for Innovation (CFI), organised a Technical Idea Hackathon to encourage students to demonstrate their creativity and contribute to cost optimization in the automotive sector. Over 500 students from various engineering backgrounds participated in the week-long event, which served as a platform for collaboration.

The hackathon involved hands-on exploration of Citroën car models, including the C3, eC3, and C3 Aircross. This experience provided participants with insights, inspiring creative ideas for cost-effective engineering solutions.

Participants engaged in brainstorming sessions to address the challenges of cost optimization in the automotive industry. Each group presented their top three ideas, showcasing their understanding and commitment to practical solutions.

Six student teams were awarded a total of Rs 4 lakh in cash prizes. Ashwani Muppasani, COO of Stellantis India & Asia Pacific, presented the awards and expressed the brand’s commitment to fostering industry-academia relations along with his satisfaction with the student-designed ideas, noting their practicality and potential for real-world implementation. He reiterated Stellantis’ ambition to embrace breakthrough ideas that support their leadership in providing innovative, clean, safe, and affordable mobility solutions.

The event concluded with congratulations to the winners and all participating students for their dedication and entrepreneurial spirit in showcasing innovative ideas for the automotive industry.
