Skoda Auto India has sold more than 1 lakh cars across 2022 and 2023, with cars like the Kushaq and the Slavia making the bulk of the orders. The Kodiaq too has seen an increase in popularity, with sales in 2023 more than 100% over 2022.
2022 in particular has been a strong year for Skoda Auto India, when they achieved sales of 53,721 cars. This was mainly due to the introduction of the Kushaq and the Slavia, launched in 2021. The momentum could not be kept up because of supply challenges in the first half of 2023, but the carmaker was still able to cross the 1 lakh mark by selling 48,755 cars by December 31.
The Kushaq was the first car to be tested and awarded five stars in adult and child safety under Global NCAP’s newer and stricter protocols from October 2022. Slavia followed suit and also achieved five stars in April of 2023. The Kodiaq too has scored five stars in the Euro NCAP tests.
Another main contributor to the increase in sales is the increase in customer touchpoints from 120 at the beginning of 2021, to 260 by the end of 2023. A huge portion of Skoda’s existing dealerships have expanded their reach along with the brand.
