Bangalore-based Simple Energy has launched its second two-wheeler, the Dot One, at an introductory price of Rs 1 lakh (ex-showroom). The offer is exclusively for existing customers of the Simple One from Bangalore. Deliveries will begin starting from Bangalore in a phased manner. The offer stands while the inventory lasts. New customers will have to wait until January 2024 to find out the launch price of the Dot One. Bookings are now open on Simple Energy’s website.
Regarding features, the Dot One gets four riding modes- Eco. Ride, Dash and Sonic. It also has a parking assist feature. The scooter has a 7-inch LCD touchscreen with Bluetooth connectivity to connect to the rider’s phone and provide ride statistics through the Simple App.
Based on the Simple One, the Dot One shares the same body, but now comes with a fixed 3.7kWh battery pack, as opposed to the split battery pack style of the Simple One. The Dot One’s battery provides a 160km range IDC and takes 3 hours 47 minutes to charge from empty to 80 percent via a 750W charger. The scooter is equipped with a PMSM motor, capable of producing 11.55PS and 72Nm. Simple Energy claims that the Dot One can sprint from 0 to 40kmph in 2.77 seconds and hit a top speed of 105kmph. Braking duties are handled by two disc brakes, a 200mm disc in front and a 190mm disc in the back. The brakes are equipped with CBS.
The Dot One will go up against the Ola S1 X, Ather 450S, Bajaj Chetak and the Vida V1 Pro.
