Chennai-based Raptee Energy showcased its first transparent electric motorcycle at the Tamil Nadu Global Investors Meet, held on January 7 and 8.
The event was inaugurated by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin and brought start-ups from around the state and participants from 30 nations under one roof. The event sought to position the state as a hub with robust infrastructure for, Electric Vehicle (EV) manufacturing and microchip production. The meet raised Rs 6.6 lakh crore in investments over the two days.

Raptee Energy has set up its factory in Chennai with a proposed investment of Rs 85 crore which can produce up to one lakh units in a year. The facility will have 470 employees working in manufacturing, design and R&D. The facility is also equipped with a dedicated battery pack assembly line.

The bikemaker showcased its first transparent bike at the meet. It runs on a high-voltage system, which enables it to access the CCS2 public charging stations. The bike can be charged from 0 to 80 percent in 45 minutes, or up to a range of 40 km in 15 minutes. It has a total claimed range of 150km on a single charge.

In terms of performance, Raptee claims the bike can accelerate from 0 to 60kmph in 3.5 seconds and hit a top speed of 135kmph.
Raptee’s motorcycle will go up against the likes of Orxa Mantis, Ultraviolette F77 when it launches in April 2024.
