Bajaj has launched the updated NS160 and NS200 at Rs 1.46 lakh and Rs 1.57 lakh, ex-showroom, which makes them Rs 10,000 and Rs 8,000 dearer to the outgoing models, respectively. For the added cost, both motorcycles now get new graphics, LED DRLs, headlamps, and fully-digital instrument clusters with Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation. There’s also a USB charging port to charge your smartphone on the move.
Both motorcycles remain mechanically unchanged. The NS160 is powered by a 160.3cc air/oil-cooled single cylinder engine, coupled with a 5-speed transmission, that puts out 17.2PS and 14.6Nm. The NS200 on the other hand is powered by a 199.5cc liquid-cooled single cylinder engine, coupled with a 6-speed gearbox, that puts out 24.5PS and 18.74Nm. Suspension hardware on both motorcycles includes 37mm USD forks upfront and a monoshock at the rear and the braking duties are handled by a 300mm disc upfront and 230mm disc at the rear, and there’s also dual-channel ABS on offer.
The NS160 competes against the likes of TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, Hero Xtreme 160R, Honda X-Blade while its bigger sibling, the NS200 competes with the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V, Honda Hornet 2.0 and KTM 200 Duke.
