• Royal Enfield SG650 concept revealed

The upcoming bobber-styled motorcycle features a 650cc parallel-twin engine

Royal Enfield has revealed a 650cc bobber-styled concept motorcycle at EICMA 2021. Dubbed the SG650, the production version will be the third 650cc offering from the Indian bikemaker following the Interceptor and Continental GT 650.

Unlike the other Enfield 650s, the SG650 features more of a futuristic look with its round LED headlamp and turn indicators. There is a lot of familiarity in the design like the rotary switchgear which gets a brushed aluminium finish on the surrounds. The retro-looking aluminium fuel tank gets a two-tone finish while the single-seat offers a floating look.

The 650cc parallel-twin powerplant appears to be shared with Royal Enfield's other 650cc motorcycles but features a different exhaust setup. Royal Enfield has not disclosed power and torque outputs.

The concept appears to use a modified version of the 650cc platform except for upside-down forks. It gets dual-disc brakes upfront and machined aluminium alloy wheels.

The production version of the SG 650 is expected to be launched early next year. We expect a cruiser variant to follow as well.
