Launched at the Torgya Festival, it will be available exclusively for customers from Arunachal Pradesh and neighbouring regions
Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles unveiled a limited edition Jawa 42, called the Tawang Edition. Only 100 units will be sold and the motorcycle is available exclusively to customers in Arunachal Pradesh and neighbouring regions. The Tawang Edition is based on the Jawa 42 Sports Stripe Allstar Black. The motifs adorning the Tawang Edition are inspired by the Lungta, a mythical wind horse, which is a part of the mythology of this region and is known to symbolise prosperity and good fortune. The customers will also get a bronze medallion to mark the special edition.
Mr Ashish Singh Joshi, CEO of Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles, said, “As motorcyclists, we have been in love with the breathtaking vistas and amazing roads that Arunachal has to offer. The rich culture and the associated legends make the ride enriching and that’s exactly what we’re honouring with the Jawa 42 Tawang Edition. The Lungta signifies well-being, and we wish riding here to be a fulfilling experience for everyone. The rewards of riding hidden in every corner makes this a paradise for every Jawa and Yezdi rider in the country.”
There are no mechanical changes as the Tawang Edition has the same 293cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that delivers 27.33PS and 26.84Nm.
The main competition of the Jawa Yezdi range of motorcycles comes from the Royal Enfield 350cc range comprising the Hunter 350 and the Classic 350 among others, the Honda 350cc duo, and the Benelli Imperiale 400.
