The new Eeco is said to be 25 percent more fuel efficient
Maruti Suzuki has given its multi-purpose van, the Eeco upgrades and is now priced from Rs 5.10 lakh, ex-showroom onwards. The upgrades are in the realms of fuel efficiency, comfort and safety.
For starters, the most significant update is the engine. The updated Eeco now gets a 1.2-litre advanced K-series Dual Jet, Dual VVT engine which delivers 10 percent more power according to the manufacturer and pushes 80.76PS of power and 104.4Nm of torque.
The petrol variant is said to be 25 percent more fuel-efficient with a fuel economy going up to 20.20kmpl, while the S-CNG version gets 29 percent higher fuel efficiency with a fuel economy of up to 27.05km/kg.
In the safety department, the Eeco comes with dual airbags, ABS with EBD, child lock and reverse parking sensors. New bits include a digitised instrument cluster, a new steering wheel and rotary controls for AC and heater. Things like reclining front seats, cabin air filter (in AC variants), dome lamp with battery saver function continue to feature in the Eeco. It is available in four colour shades and 13 variants which include a five-seater, a seven-seater, an ambulance and Cargo Tour.
Being the only multi-purpose van in its segment, the Eeco has always been a high-selling vehicle for Maruti Suzuki. With many different variants available, including an S-CNG option, the updated Eeco will look to hold on to the monopoly.
