• Audi updates the A4 sedan in India

The updates include new shades of colour as well as some extra features

With the festive season upon us, Audi India has decided to spruce up their A4 sedan with some small updates on the Technology variant and two new colours across the model range.

For starters, the two new body shades on the A4 are Tango Red and Manhattan Grey. Tango Red, as the name suggests, is a fiery shade of red.. On the other hand, Manhattan Grey, a much darker grey than the currently offered Terra Grey, is ideal for those who prefer a bolder personality from the A4.

This brings the number of available colours for the A4 to seven: Mythos Black, Floret Silver, Navarra Blue, and the Ibis White, are the other body shades on offer for the A4.

Apart from the new colours available across the A4 range, two additional features are now available on the top-of-the-line Technology variant. These are a flat-bottomed steering wheel, and a new Bang & Olufsen 19-speaker 3D sound system. This sound system is controlled by Audi’s MultiMedia Interface which is accessed through the 10.5 inch TFT display in the centre console.

The Audi A4 in India is offered with only one powertrain option, a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder which pumps out 197PS and 320Nm and can accelerate the car to 100kmph from a standstill in 7.3 seconds, and can go on to attain a top speed of 241kmph. It also has a 12V mild-hybrid system with regenerative braking. This system is capable of turning off the engine while coasting for up to ten seconds, at speeds between 55kmph to 160kmph.

All of these new additions have made the A4 Technology variant a touch more expensive, at Rs. 50.99 lakh, as it was previously priced at Rs. 49.97 lakh ex-showroom. These upgrades on the A4 should give it a bit of a boost in its fight against rivals like the BMW 3-series, the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, and the Jaguar XE.
