Zac Hollis, Brand Director, ŠKODA AUTO India, said, “The KODIAQ is a niche, luxury 4x4 and our flagship offering. The response to this SUV, post the launch in January was astounding. I still get requests for the vehicle, showing us that India has an extremely healthy demand for quality, luxurious, technologically advanced SUVs that are priced right. I am happy to share that we are opening bookings for Q1 2023, and will announce phase-wise booking windows for the rest of the 2023 volumes. While the SLAVIA and KUSHAQ are enabling us to make 2022 the Biggest Year for ŠKODA in India, the outstanding response to the KODIAQ shows that customers look at ŠKODA as the ultimate in value luxury.”

Coming to the features list, it will most likely still retain an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, ambient lighting, three-zone climate control, hands-free parking, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a wireless charging pad and a 12-speaker Canton sound system, panoramic sunroof and ventilated front seats. On the safety front, the Kodiaq is equipped with dynamic chassis control, parking sensors and nine airbags. Comfort bits include blinds, blankets, and an umbrella holder among others.

The Kodiaq is powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol mill and produces 190PS and 320Nm catapulting it from a standstill to a 100kmph mark in under 7.8 seconds. The engine comes mated to a seven-speed automatic gearbox with all-wheel drive as standard across the range.

The Skoda Kodiaq has the likes of the Volkswagen Tiguan as well as the petrol variants of the Toyota Fortuner to go up against in India.
